We at Bord Gáis Energy love books and reading almost as much as we love Ladies Football and so in September 2010 we decided to launch our very own online book club  We now have over 8,000 members enjoying the site so we’re guessing a lot of you out there share our passion too!

If you’re a book worm or just someone who dips in and out of the occasional read this is the perfect website to arm you with all the latest “book news” you need.

We’ll keep you up to date on the books that everyone is talking about and recommend a couple that will keep you entertained no matter what your interest.

Monthly book reviews
At bordgaisenergybookclub.ie we have a panel of reviewers specially selected to give you as wide an insight into as many different books as possible. Its a panel of three people, and two change on a monthly basis. We have Bert Wright, administrator of the Irish Book Awards and an expert in all things books, a librarian and a celeb author.

Bert gives snappy and honest reviews mostly on “books of the moment” which, after reading you’ll have a good idea if you want to embark on or not – Bert won’t send you wrong!

The librarian reviewer changes on a monthly basis and they give us their thoughts on the book that the Bord Gáis Energy Ireland AM book club are reviewing. This goes out on TV3 at 9.35am on Tuesday mornings for anyone who wants a little extra book club time.

Our celebrity authors also change from month to month and they review their favourite books, you’d be surprised at some of the books that are chosen, it’s great to see that celeb authors aren’t all reading top of the range literature!

Love chatting about books but don’t have the time for a book club?
For anyone who loves to read and discuss their favourite books but don’t have the time for book club meetings the Bord Gáis Energy online forum is the place to be!

Members review books they’ve read recently, discuss what they liked and didn’t, and give recommendations to others on what to read next. If you’re ever stuck on what book to choose next our members are only too delighted to point you in the right direction!

Books for everyone….
We know how tricky it can be to get kids to read but we know how important it is too. Every month we recommend books that little ones will enjoy and arm you with as much information as possible to get your children into the habit of reading from an early age.

We also review lifestyle and hobbies books as well as seasonal reads which will really get you in the mood for lying on the beach reading a book you won’t be able to put down!

Competitions and Promotions
Every month we give our members great opportunities to win some super prizes! These will be detailed in our e-zine that goes out on a monthly basis so make sure you sign up to this to be kept up-to-date.

Once you register on the site you will also be sent a free book light which allows you to enjoy your favourite book no matter where or are or what time of day or night it is!

BORD GÁIS ENERGY BOOK CLUB AND LADIES FOOTBALL PROMOTION
To celebrate the Bord Gáis Energy Ladies Football National League finals which are taking place on the 30 April (Division 4) and 7 May (Divisions 1, 2 and 3) in Parnell Park, we are delighted to announce a special promotion for all ladies footballers.

Anyone who joins the Bord Gáis Energy book club between May 1 and 31, and selects the Ladies Football option when giving their details, will be automatically entered into an exclusive prize draw.  The draw will be held on 6 June and the winners notified within five working days.

First prize is a Spa Break worth €500 along with a ladies football training kit for your club (to include bibs, footballs and training cones). There will also be nine runners up prizes comprising of a €30 one4all voucher, a book hamper as well as a training kit for your club.
