Annual General Meeting of Munster ladies Football Council 1981

The Annual General meeting of the Munster Council was held at the Hibernian Hotel, Mallow on Friday night the 23 January 1981.

Attendance:
Sally Clohessy, Dick O’Shea,  Derry Shanahan, Tipperary, Patrick O’Gorman, Nealie Walsh, Fiona Kimmick Cor, Michael Collins, Tony Riordan, Mick Fitzgerald, Kerry.

As the President Nealie Walsh had resigned during the year, Mick Fitzgerald presided.  There was no minute book available or no record of minutes of last year’s AGM.

Officers elected for 1981:
President:  Mick Fitzgerald Kerry
Vice-President: Derry Shanahan Tipperary
Secretary:  Amelia Collins Kerry
Treasurer:  Patrick O’Gorman Cork
PRO:   Nelius Walsh  Cork

Affiliation

It was decided that affiliations for county for 1981 would be £25 to be paid at the next meeting.  It was also suggested that the Secretary should write to the Treasurer of Munster Council GAA and inform them of Munster’s success during the first year and ask for financial assistance.

Motions

The following motion was passed unanimously.  All Munster championship games be played at neutral venues in 1981.

Club Championship

The draws for the Munster club championship were made and are as follows:

Castleisland v Slievenamon at Mallow on Sunday 15 march at 2.30 pm, referee pat Gorman.  Final to be fixed after above game.

Inter-Provincial Championship

Dick O’Shea Tipperary, Tony Riordan, Kerry and Patrick O’Gorman Cork were appointed to select the Munster team for the inter-provincial championship.

Hilda O’Leary, Eileen O’Connor, (Kerry), Ann Maher (Tipperary), Sally Clohessy (Tipperary), Paula Ryan  (Tipperary), Carmel Ring (Cork), Marion O’Shea (Tipperary), Mary Twomey (Kerry), Josephine Burke (Tipperary), Cait Dwyer (Tipperary), Eileen Lawlor (Kerry), Lilian Gorey (Tipperary), Margaret Lawlor (Kerry), Tina O’Brien (Cork), Mary Jo Curran (Kerry)
Subs:
Bernie Kelliher, Una Shorten, F Callaghan (Cork), Amelia Collins, Marian Doherty (Kerry), Margaret Leahy (Tipperary)

Medals

The meeting was told that there are two sets of Under 16 medals and one set of senior medals due to Tipperary.  And one set of Under 18 medals due to Keey.

This concluded the meeting.
