Annual General meeting of Munster ladies Football Council 1987

The Annual general meeting of the Munster ladies Football Council was held in the Hibernian Hotel, Mallow on Sunday 1 February 1987 at 3.00 pm.

The counties represented were:
Cork, Kerry, Clare, Tipperary, Waterford.

The minutes of the last annual General meeting of 25 November 1985 were read and their adoption was proposed by Tony O'Riordan and seconded by Donal Sheehan.

The next item on the agenda was the chairperson's address.  Hannie Lordan welcomed all to the meeting and especially Tipperary who did not take part last year in any competitions.  She then thanks all officers for their work during the year and all referees, officials and clubs for their help.

In matters arising from the Treasurer's report, it was noted that game takings at major matches were very low.  It was decided in order to rectify this that Munster Council should give out passes to the two teams involved in matches beforehand.

Officers elected for 1987:
Chairperson:      Hannie Lordan
Vice-chairperson:   Tony Riordan
Secretary:   Deferred until next meeting as the two people nominated, Brigid McGrath and James lafferty were not willing to take the position.
Assistant Secretary:   James Lafferty
Treasurer:      James lafferty
PRO:   It was decided by all present not to elect a PRO but that each county would do their own publicity.

Motions

A motion from Cork that the club championships be finished in the year that it is started to go to National Congress.

Any Other business

Tony Riordan spoke on the present 'All Star' selection system.  He said it was not acceptable and it would have to change.  This is to be discussed at national Congress in March.

Inter-provincial trials to be held in Kerry on May 17 1987.

A long discussion then took place on the problems in Clare and it was decided after hearing both sides of the argument that the present County Board was to be the official board for Clare county for the coming year.  A letter is t bee sent to Ann Hayes re this discussion.

Next meeting fixed for February 25 1987.

This concluded the business of the meeting.

Signed: Hannie Lordan 6/12/87

Secretary's Report 1986

We have come once again to the end of a very successful year at Munster Council.  All games were played on the days appointed and once again this year Munster captured the inter-provincial title and Munster teams were successful in the following grades: Senior, junior, Under 16 and Post primary and 3rd level Colleges.

Firstly I would like to thank all the referees and all the clubs who provided pitches for the year and secondly my fellow officers and all involved with Munster Council who helped me in any way during the year.

Signed: Brid Ni Chraith
