Munster U14 A Final Cork 4-19 Kerry 3-7

First into action on Sunday was the U14’s. Cork started positive with a brace of goals in the opening 10 minutes. Kerry were taking direction from the positive play of wing forwards Denise Burns and Savannah Mac Carthy and began to covert points from their attacks. Full forward Erin Finucane also was causing the Cork defence problems and Cork’s midpoint 5 point lead was cancelled with the first of Kerry’s green flags. Cork responded with a goal of their own followed by another Kerry attack which resulted in their second first half goal. The first half finished with Cork in ahead thanks to their 4 goal of the half to leave the short whistle, Cork 4-7 Kerry 2-5. Second half and Kerry started positive with their 3 goal of the afternoon but the remaining match belonged to Cork, 12 well taken points dominated the tale of how the second half went to Kerry’s two. Cork introduced 3 subs all who added their own ability to this game. Cork Scorers were Eimear Scally 1-9; Hannah Looney 1-4, Leah McEvoy 1-2; Rebecca Walsh 1-0; Megan Connolly 0-2, Ailbhe Dowling & Kate Leneghan 0-1 each. The Munster U14 player of the match was Cork’s centre forward Hannah Looney.
